Alyona Afonichkina

Alyona Afonichkina is a violinist, educator, and cultural project manager with an extensive international background. She received her musical education at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Milano under Maestro Daniele Gay, after earlier studies at the Conservatories of Tashkent and Baku, and at the Uspensky Special Music School in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. 

As an orchestral musician, Alyona has collaborated with numerous ensembles in Italy and abroad, including the Orchestra Filarmonica del Conservatorio di MilanoOrchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla ScalaCamerata DucaleOrchestra del Teatro Lirico di CagliariOrchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma, and Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento.

Internationally, she has performed with the Orchester der Tiroler Festspiele (Austria), Baku Philharmonic OrchestraTashkent Opera Orchestra, and National Chamber Orchestra of Uzbekistan, appearing in major venues such as Teatro alla Scala (Milan), the The Column Hall of the House of Unions (Moscow), and the Auditorium Nacional (Madrid).

She has worked under the direction of world-renowned conductors including Riccardo Muti, Riccardo Chailly, Lorin Maazel, Gustav Kuhn, and Mstislav Rostropovich. 

Alyona’s passion for education has led her to teach violin and chamber music at several music schools in the Milan area, including Associazione LissonumLaltramusica Milano, and Civica Scuola di Musica di Cinisello Balsamo. Her teaching philosophy combines rigorous technical grounding with artistic curiosity and emotional awareness.

Beyond her artistic career, Alyona has developed significant experience in cultural management and event coordination. She was responsible for logistics and international partnerships in major projects such as Le cupole dorate (Russia, 2010) and Non Nobis – Natale in Terra Santa (Israel and Palestinian Territories, 2010), overseeing artist travel, schedules, and production planning.

Fluent in Russian, Italian, and English, Alyona brings to the festival not only her musical sensitivity but also her exceptional ability to connect people and manage complex international collaborations.
